Kruger National Park 2024

Our Matric Life Sciences learners spent seven days in the Kruger National Park: night game drives, tented camps, wild dogs, hyenas, a cheetah and lions.

I am thrilled to share my experience from Kruger National Park. We embarked on a 7-day adventure as part of our Matric Life Sciences extra-curricular tour.

Some of the special moments included night game drives, cosy tented camps, close encounters with a few baboons (shout out to Mrs Downes for bravely scaring them away), many delicious braais cooked by Mr Preddy and the learners, and many pit-stops in between. We viewed wild dogs and hyenas together, which is incredibly rare to see. Mrs Downes and a few learners were ambushed by some elephants (everyone came out with a new respect for the not-so-gentle giants), and we had a beautiful sighting of a cheetah, lions, and a few quick naps in the bus along the way.

Thank you to Mrs Downes, Mr Preddy and Ms Sarkis for making the trip memorable. You never let us have a dull moment and taught us things we will take with us for life. Thank you to all the parents and guardians who made the trip possible for each and every one of us. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to experience what we did, and most importantly, together. The memories made and shared will be cherished amongst all of us in the years to come.
